Londa Jean Springer
was born January 3, 1971 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Her father, Kenneth L. Springer; grandparents. Mary and John Broddie, Willie Bouey, Fitzroy and Olive Springer; and great-grandparents, Joe and Mary Day; all preceded her in death.
Londa attended Southside High School in Fort Wayne and graduated in June 1989. Shortly after graduation, Londa accepted employment with Lincoln National Life Insurance Company, now known as Lincoln Financial Group (LFG), where she was employed for 28 years. While employed at LFG, she attended night classes at Anthis Career Center (formerly known as Regional Vocational Center), Fort Wayne, where she was very adamant about learning how to speak Spanish.
Londa was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses Abbott and Waynedale Congregations, Fort Wayne. Most importantly, she had a quest for knowledge that kept her grounded in her faith as she studied and searched for knowledge to help those who wanted relief through the “Holy Scriptures,” for support like herself.
She had a smile that was contagious! Londa enjoyed shopping, decorating her home, listening to Jazz. She loved to eat, too! You could also catch her dressed down in her baseball cap going to work, then heading to a baseball game. Yes, she loved her sports. Londa enjoyed yearly trips to Indianapolis to shop for the latest fashions. She was so excited when her passport was approved and arrived so she could take a vacation in Cancun, Mexico, and was looking forward to an adventurous trip to Canada. Most importantly, she enjoyed and loved being around her family, especially her Aunt Norma Jean and cousin Jack Woods.
Early Tuesday afternoon on April 23rd, Londa, fell asleep in death.
Londa is survived by her beloved mother, Mary Lois Springer; sister, Illana Springer, aunts; Norma Jean Woods, Cornelius Grant, Zelda Thomas, and Wilma Cox; uncles, David and Frederick Springer, Joseph E. and Willie F. Bouey all of Fort Wayne; and a host of aunts and uncles in Barbados, British West Indies, London, England and U.S.A.; special friends, Ruby Bates, Krista Sanders, Kizmet Byrd all of Fort Wayne; and Jacqueline Byrd of Gary, Indiana; former husband, Terry Johnson of Fort Wayne, and a host of extended family and friends.
~ She will be laid to rest in Lindenwood Cemetery ~
