Malinda "Sue" Reese Obituary
Malinda Mae Reese, affectionately called “Sue” by her family and friends, made her peaceful transition to Heaven on Monday, September 29, 2025. She was born on April 16, 1950, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Albert Reese Sr. and Minnie Lee (Williams) Stevenson. Malinda accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age at Jerusalem Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Dr. Samuel Walker Jr. She was a faithful member until her health issues under the leadership of Pastor Maurice E. Culver Sr.
Malinda was a 1968 graduate of Central High School. She later earned her Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Services from Indiana–Purdue University Fort Wayne. In addition, she received multiple associate degrees from Ivy Tech Community College in Paralegal Studies, Human Services, and Marketing. Throughout her career, Malinda worked many years at Harvester, Comcast, and Zollner Corporation, where she was known for her strong work ethic and kind spirit.
Malinda enjoyed roller skating, playing cards with family and friends, watching movies, and spending time socializing. She enjoyed watching all sports especially basketball and football. Although she often preferred to stay in the background rather than front and center, she deeply cherished every moment shared with loved ones. Malinda was a devoted mother who took great pride in supporting her children throughout their lives. She faithfully attended their high school events from sporting games to graduations, always cheering them on with pride and love. Every moment spent with her grandchildren brought her tremendous joy; she truly cherished being in their presence. Her face would light up whenever they entered the room, a reflection of the deep love and happiness they brought to her life.
Malinda leaves to cherish and honor her loving memories; daughter LaShonda Reese, sons Jermaine, Argentry, and Courtney Reese. Sister Queen Esther (Alfred) Dubose; sister in laws Patricia Reese, Joyce Gaines-Reese and Carol Stevenson; stepbrothers, Bobby, Kenneth (Geraldine), Will (Shirley), Duane (Vickie) and Michael Stevenson; foster brother Tyrone (Vickie) Woods; special uncle David (Sheila) Williams; special cousin Frederick (Gwen) Stevenson; 6 grandchildren Kwai Love, Jermaine Jr, Jasmine, Jaylin, Jayla, Kennedy Reese, and a host of nieces, nephews extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert “Covered Up” Reese Sr; mother, Minnie Lee Reese Stevenson; stepfather, St. Luke Stevenson; sister, Betty Reese; brothers, Albert, Charlie (Janet), Terry, Larry and Raymond Reese; stepbrothers, Howard Lee and Richard Stevenson.
