Mamie Lee (Ingol) Mason

Mamie Lee Ingol Vaughn Mason, age 92, of Fort Wayne, IN. Departed this life to begin a new life in Heaven on August 7, 2021 at home surround by love with family and friends.                                   

Mamie was born on January 20, 1929 in Shelby County In Alabama by a midwife.  She was the daughter of the late Anna Wooden Ingol and Marion Ingol.  Mamie was married to the late Eddie Vaughn. Mamie was the mother to seven children she leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Michelle B. Vaughn Morton, Teresa E. Mason both of Fort Wayne, IN, and Dion C. Mason (Morrow, GA); and one son, Micheal B. Vaughn of Fort Wayne, IN. 

Mamie worked for Fort Wayne Community School as a Custodian and Cook from 1975-1991, Janitorial work with local law office downtown Fort Wayne and Holiday Inn (1990-1995) until she retired. Mamie was part of the Eastside Neighborhood Association Watch with her dear friend, Ms. Bonnie Andrews ( 1978 -1995 ). She was loved by her family, friends, and people throughout Fort Wayne and Alabama and beyond.

She was kind, loving , caring, talkative, respected mom that loved keeping things clean, and did not take NO mess. Her real passion was gardening, fishing also canning. Mamie always helped others in need. 
 

BEAUTIFUL inside and out, Mamie was a people person and could always put a smile on someone's face during good or bad times. Mamie always wanted to keep her neighborhood clean, always sweeping sidewalks/curbsides on her block. She was a joyful person to be around that will be truly missed but not ever forgotten.

She leaves behind 28 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends to remember her by special sisters in Christ, Minnie Smith and Katie Craig and long standing friend and neighbor, Ms. Willie Lee Brown . 

She was preceded in death by her husband,  Eddie Vaughn; sons, Eddie Pooky Vaughn, Anthony Ray Vaughn, Henry Mason Jr.; very close brother, M.W.C. Ingol (aka Bull)  who lived in close vicinity to her while living in Fort Wayne , Indiana.; two grandsons and two great grandkids, and all together again 17 siblings.
