Mamie Springer Obituary

MAMIE L. SPRINGER WAS BORN JUNE 15, 1942 IN ELAINE, ARKANSAS TO ROY AND AMMIE GRAYSON.

Mamie was born into a large and loving family, being one of 21 children. On September 24, 2020, Mamie departed this life in the comfort of her home surronded by her family.

Mamie moved to Fort Wayne Indiana in 1962 where she met and married her husband of 56 years David Springer. A devoted mother of four children-Gloria, Anthony, Sherwin and Dennis-Mamie’s love and commitment to her family was the most important part of her life. This love was passed on to her seven grandchildren of whom were her pride and joy and were a constant part of her daily conversations. Forever the proud grandmother her smile said it all. She loved to spend time with family laughing while sharing stories of times past.

In June of 1970 Mamie devoted her life to serving her Lord and Savior Jehovah by being baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness. With that commitment to Jehovah she dedicated her life to serving others and the teachings of Jehovah. Those who knew Mamie remember her as being genuine, kind, generous, precious and loving to all with both a smile and laugh that could light up the room. A village mother to so many, all were welcome in her home. She provided gentle counsel to those in need. Sometimes a simple...”you got that right” from her seemed to solve it all!

Mamie retired for Flashfold Carton Inc. in 2004 in order to spend more time with family. Loving the simpler things in life, you could often find her sitting in her back yard on her favorite swing enjoying the weather and great conversation or taking care of her plants and flowers.

Preceded in death by her mother, Ammie, father, Roy, step-mother, Lester; sons, Anthony and Sherwin, brother, Roy, sister, Rosa Lee, brother, Arthur Lee, sister, Mary, sister, Ruthie Mae, sister, Minnie, and sister, Maddie.

She is survived by her loving husband, David;  daughter, Gloria (Loyd) Brown; son, Dennis (Nicole) Springer; seven grandchildren, Terry, Shedra, Rodney, Cordell, Marcus, Sophia, Sydney and a host of brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and extend family.

Mamie will be will be missed by all, but she has left us with a legacy of loving memories for all to carry daily.

To our beloved Mamie ....a job well done and we will always love you. Take your rest.

John 5:28-29 - Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life...
