Marian E. (Looper) Manus was born on May 20, 1933 in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee to the late Frank and Helen (Haynes) Looper. She departed this life at the age of 84, on May 10, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.
She was a longtime and faithful member of McKee Street Church of God until her health began to fail and she then joined Imani Baptist Temple with her family.
Marian retired from the Fort Wayne State Developmental Center after 32 years of service.
She displayed her love for God by her gentle spirit and acts of kindness. She was loved by anyone that came in contact with her. " To know her was to love her." Marian enjoyed spending time with her family and friends while displaying her great sense of humor and also telling you the truth, rather you liked it or not. In her own words, " Tell the truth and shame the devil".
Marian enjoyed watching sports and her love for LaBron James was off the charts...she was his #1 fan. Her greatest love was being a prayer warrior who stood in the gap for her family, friends and even strangers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Helen Looper; husband, Jesse B. Manus Jr.; son Leonard F. Manus; daughter, Denise Darcell Manus; siblings, Frank Looper, Thomas Looper, Harold Looper, Joe Looper, Doris Collier and Linda Booker.
Marian leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Sheila (Alvin) Murdock; son, Steven Manus; stepson, Leroy Johnson; siblings, Cora James, Vivian (Arlie) Hatch, Millie Stewart, Terry (Marcia) Looper; adopted daughter, Lorraine Craig and adopted son, Walter “Pig” Burnett, 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
