Mary Helen Bennett was born to the late Willie P. and late Jennie Marie King on May 27, 1935 in Marion, Alabama. On November 6, 2020, at the age 85, she passed away at Dupont Hospital.

 
Mary attended Marion Public School System and she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and became a member of St. James Baptist Church in Marion, Alabama. During her early adult life she met and married her late husband, Charlie Bennett and to this union several children were born.  She moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana shortly after moving to Fort Wayne she became a member of Community Baptist Church and worked at Lutheran Hospital for 29 years before retiring.

 
Memories will be forever cherished by her loved ones, three sons, Ernest James, Charles Randy, and Stanley Ray Bennett, one daughter, Sheila Mae (Steven) Cole all of Fort Wayne, two brothers, Eugene King and William (Theola) King both of Fort Wayne, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
 

Preceding in her death were her parents, Willie and Jennie King; husband, Charlie Bennett; daughter, Shirley Brooks; sister, Jennie Bell Goree and brother, Albert King.
