With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Michael Tarail Bright, 48, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, who died tragically on June 14, 2025, because of a hit-and-run accident, leaving a void in the hearts of his loved ones. His vibrant life, full of love and laughter, was abruptly cut short, leaving an immeasurable void in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be profoundly missed by family and friends.

Michael, born on May 4, 1977, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Michael was a proud graduate of Wayne High School, Class of 1995. Michael was a beloved son, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He went on to build a life centered around the people he cherished. He deeply loved being a father to his children, Natasjah Bright of South Bend, IN, Devin Brooks of Fort Wayne, IN and Michael Bright Jr. of Covington, IN, taking immense pride in their accomplishments. He was equally proud of his father, Michael A. Gaines, and maintained a close and loving relationship with him. His warm personality and zest for life brightened the lives of all who knew him.

Michael's life was characterized by his zest for life and his genuine enjoyment of family and friends. He was responsible, hardworking, and dedicated to providing for his children. He possessed a warm and infectious spirit, always ready for a good time and eager to connect with others. His laughter was contagious, and his presence brought joy to those around him.

Michael was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Sheila G. Bright, and his beloved sister Unique M. Bright, and his uncle, Kent L. Bright. He is survived by his father, Michael A. Gaines (Pamela) of Charleston, SC; his children, Natasjah, Devin, and Michael Jr.; his siblings, Marcus B. McGee of Fort Wayne, IN, Jocquel J. Ervins of Louisville, KY, Miykael A. Gaines (Kimberly) of Brookfield, IL, Michelle A. Gaines of London, England, and Janelle L. Gaines-Goodloe (Erik) of Chicago, IL; his special beloved Aunt Deborah Taylor and Uncle Pierre Taylor helped raise Michael until his graduation from High School unselfishly; his other beloved Aunts; Della Logan, Joyce Reese, Marsha L. Gaines-Black (Robert) all of Fort Wayne, IN, and Aunt Vivian L. Gaines-Thompson (Henry), of Indianapolis, IN; his Uncles; Jeffrey Bright of Fort Wayne, IN, Ronald E. Gaines of Atlanta, GA, Jerome P. Gaines (Denise) of Wilmington, NC, Darryel D. Gaines of Jeffersonville, IN; and numerous other cousins, nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

Michael's passing leaves an irreplaceable hole in the lives of those who knew and loved him. His memory will forever be cherished, and his spirit will continue to inspire those he left behind.
