Nora Gleason Obituary

Nora Lynn Gleason was born to Cecil Lee Garmon Sr. and Annie Mae Garmon (Luton) on December 30, 1930 in Fulton, Kentucky.  She transitioned into the arms of the Lord on Christmas Day of 2025. 


In 1947, Nora moved to Indianapolis, Indiana and later moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana uniting with Pilgrim Baptist Church. She would soon move her membership to St. John Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor James W. Bledsoe, the late Pastor Frederick A. Sleet and Pastor Marcus Lowe Sr.  She received the Lord and Savior Christ at an early age and was baptized at Brooks Chapel Baptist Church.  While at St. John, Nora served many years in various ministries including the senior choir.  She was a faithful warrior, never giving up and a dedicated giver.  Nora served up to the age of 94.  


Nora had many jobs throughout her lifetime.  She had been employed at Magnavox, Harvester, St. Joe Hospital and St. Annes Nursing Home.  She retired from home health care at the age of 60.  


Nora enjoyed socializing, cooking, shopping, dining out, traveling and caring for many foster children.  


Nora leaves behind to cherish her memory, 2 sons, Jeff Gleason and Quandell (Marice) Gleason; a daughtere, Deasha (Cortez) Williams; 7 grandchildren, Andrea Gleason, Brittany Bensun, Lamarquis Ruffin, Jalen Hudson, Quaneisha Walker, Ziariah Wright and Kyseme Price; 11 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives. 


Nora is preceded in death by her parents Cecil Lee Garmon Sr. and Annie Mae Garmon; a son, Glyn Gleason; and brothers, Ceciil, Marvin, Charles, Jeffery and Adel Ray.
