Onetha L. Smith

Onetha’s life began in 1978 in Benton Harbor, MI.  She was born to Pamela Smith and Lee Wright.  Shortly after her life began, the family welcomed another child; a son, her brother, Frederick Booth Jr.  As her life took shape, being the beautiful, intelligent young lady she was, she discovered that she had a passion for law, however, God’s plan sent her in another direction, which was nursing.  Onetha had the empathy and compassion to take care of those who couldn’t take care of themselves.  She was great at listening to the aches, thoughts, and concerns of people that needed her attention.   

During her time as a nurse, she gave birth to a beautiful daughter, Aniya, which was shortly followed by the birth of her second daughter, Kiara.  She did her best as a single mother until she met Joseph Phillips, who fathered her two other daughters, Ja’Zaria and Caleah.  Joseph would be with Onetha until her last day. 

Onetha was LOVE!!! A friendly face, a warm smile, a hot meal if needed, and an empathetic, listening ear.  She was so many things to so many different people.  I know that God had bigger plans for her than what we can see.  We are all grateful that we had the opportunity to love an angel in her lifetime. 

Onetha leaves to cherish her loving memories her mother, Pamela; father, Lee; brother, Freddie; daughters, Aniya, Kiara, Ja’Zaria, & Claleah; granddaughters, Kionna & Dah’Ziah along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that love and will miss her.
