Royal Leon Jordan II was born November 13, 1960 in Vallejo, California to Dr. Royal Jordan Sr. and Veronica Dixie Jordan (Gillespie). He departed this earthly plane on April 16, 2021 to be with His Lord and Savior at the age of sixty years old.
In his union with the late Velma Hicks they bore two sons, Royal Jordan III and Donte’ Jordan.
Royal served in the National Guard, was a graduate of Ball State University and received his Bachelors of Science degree from Indiana University/ Purdue Fort Wayne in 2015. Although he struggled at times in life, with his faith in Christ along with his family’s love and support he overcame tremendous obstacles to eventually become the Program Director for youth empowerment with the Urban League of Fort Wayne. With this appointment he was able to reach out to youth whom he could directly relate to. Royal thrived in this position with the passion and determination to assist those who were in situations he once found himself in. Royal also proudly began an automotive detail business named "Royal’s Reconditioning" which was a dream of his, borne from his early youth and passion for professionally cleaned, detailed automobiles and upholstery.
Royal enjoyed funk music, smooth jazz, sketching, writing letters to loved ones/friends and spending as much time with them as he could. If you wanted to see his face light up, just mention any one of his grandchildren whom he loved so so dearly. He was so proud of the men and fathers his two sons had become. His sense of humor was second to none and he always found a way to see the glass as half full as opposed to half empty and could make you laugh to tears at any given moment. Just ask Shirley, his loving companion and fiancé.
Royal was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Royal Leon Jordan Sr. and brother Jonathon.
Left to cherish his memory are: two sons, Royal III (Serina) and Donte’ (Chaunice); his mother,Veronica (Gillespie) of Cincinnati, Ohio; his brothers, Kurt, Scott, Mark, Trent, David and Stephen; his sisters, Pamela, Marla, Elizabeth, Denita and April, nine lovely grandchildren, aunt, Quay (Vernon) Barnes, uncles, James Jordan, Lawrence (Rosemary) Howell and Kevin Howell, along with a host of cousins, nieces and nephews that will miss Royal dearly.
