Ruth (Brandon) Jenkins

Mattie Ruth (Brandon) Jenkins, age 98 made her transition on Friday, June 19, 2020. Ruth was born June 12, 1922 in Readyville, Tennessee to the late Jesse Allen and Mattie Mai Knight Brandon.  Ruth was the last of her six siblings to transition.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Erritt Jenkins, and a great-grandson, LaMarcus Jenkins.  

Ruth retired from Lutheran Hospital after twenty-five years of service as a nursing assistant, and supervisor of volunteer services.

Ruth was the Matriarch of her family. If you ever met her or in her presence, you would usually get an invitation to dinner.  

Ruth was a long-time faithful and loyal member of Union Baptist Church as well as one of the oldest members. She was a most generous giver.

Lamar Jenkins, Fort Wayne, IN, Jamaine Brooks, Fort Wayne, IN, James Curry, Jr, Indianapolis, IN, Marnita Nelson, Fort Wayne, IN; great granddaughter, Madisen Edmond, Fort Wayne, IN, and a host of great and great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbors, church family and friends.

Mother Ruth will be laid to rest next to her husband in Covington Memorial Gardens
