Ruth E. Starks Obituary

Ruth E. Starks was born on February 25, 1940 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was the daughter of Sam and Bernice (Gaines)Hogan. 

She departed from this earthly life on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Parkview Regional Medical Center.

Ruth accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Metropolitan Baptist Church in Indianapolis by the late Rev. Sweat.

She received her education from Crispus Adducks High School in Indianapolis.

In the 1960’s, she moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana. She often attended Greater Mt. Ararat Baptist Church - Ernest K. Starks.

Ruth was a hard worker.  She was formerly employed by Fort Wayne State Developmental Center, Magnavox and International Harvester Truck. She retired from ITT Aerospace after many years of service. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Bernice Hogan; husband of 50 years, James Starks; three sons, Ronnie Campbell, Johnny Hogan and Ricardo Jones and a sister, Doris Hogan.

Ruth leaves to cherish her memory a loving daughter, Viveca “Peaches” (Ernie) Meriwether; sister, Ella (Will) Balam; brother, Donald (Terri) Hogan, 11 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. 

Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens.
