Sallie Lee McKinney (Perry) was born on January 17, 1938, to the union of the late James Perry Sr, and Hannah Perry in Newbern, Alabama. Sallie departed this life on August 1, 2023, at the age of 85.

Sallie moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1968, which is the same year she met and married her late husband, Willie McKinney. Sallie worked at Wayne Candy and spent the majority of her career as a housekeeper. She loved family especially her son James and absolutely loved a good meal.

Sallie leaves to cherish her memories: one son, James Perry of Fort Wayne, IN; two sisters, Florence Johnson and Betty (Jack) Jackson, both of Fort Wayne, IN; three brothers, James Perry, Pittsburg, PA, Isaac (Mary) Perry, Fort Wayne, IN and Hubert Perry of Fort Wayne, IN and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Sallie was preceded in death by her father James Perry, her mother Hannah Perry, her husband Willie McKinney, her sister Susie Perry, and her brothers Aaron Perry and Rufus Perry.
