Terry Vern Rainey 61, of Ft Wayne, In. passed away peacefully at Parkview Regional Hospital on June 21, 2026 at 3:28am. He was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania on November 1, 1964 to, the late, Thomas Vern Rainey, and, the late, Betty Jean (Shuttleworth) Rainey. He is survived by his six siblings, William Thomas Rainey, Donald Dale Rainey, Michael Jay Rainey, Robert Raymond Rainey, Douglas Alan Rainey, and sister Lori Jean Rainey; his niece, Aleciah Rainey; and his best friend, of 35 years, Marian Lindsey, who resides in Ft Wayne, IN. He was preceded in death by a son, Terry Vern Rainey, Jr.
Terry worked in Ft. Wayne as a telemarketer for the Paralyzed Hoosier Veterans or PHV for most of his life. He was the top salesman of any telemarketer. He loved his job, and worked hard to get his sales. He had a good clientele who bought from him as repeat customers for many, many years. In later years, he worked construction, helping with repairs and remodeling houses. He liked to work and make money
As a person, Terry was a great man who would help a person if at all possible. As a friend, he was there, always present. He had a great many friends, but he and his best friend, Marian, were inseparable. They were always together and never wavered, friends until the end. Terry's favorite hangout was The Pantry, at the corner of Fourth and Wells St. If you ever wanted to find him, and didn't know where to look, he was probably sitting there having a cold one. He had many friends who became family, and he will be missed by many. He was such a fun person and was, what many would say, "The life of the Party"!
RIP MY FRIEND... YOU WILL BE MISSED!
