Thelma Lee McCrary

Funeral services for Mrs. Thelma Lee Moore McCrary, of Adrian, Georgia, will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2020, at 12 PM, at the graveside at the Valdosta Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 1975 Hwy 199 South in East Dublin. Reverend John Sutton will deliver the eulogy.

Mrs. Thelma McCrary, also known as "Toot" was born on July 18, 1936, to Charlie and Sallie Mae Moore. She was a 1955 graduate of the Treutlen County Training School. She was married to the late James McCrary, Jr., on April 3, 1957.   When living in Fort Wayne, Indiana, she worked for General Electric for 29 years before she retired, and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. In 2004, she moved back to her hometown of Adrian, Georgia. Mrs. McCrary was known for her superb cooking skills and she thoroughly enjoyed cooking for others. Her specialties were collard greens, sweet potato pies, dressing, potato salad, homemade ice cream and homemade grape juice.

Mrs. McCrary passed away on March 21, 2020. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Veola March and Mary Jordan, her mother-in-law, Ola Mae Wright, sisters-in-law, Shadie Mae, Lillie Moore, Marian Moore, and brothers-in-law, Rev. Frank March, Hollis Jordan, Rev. Samuel Walker and Richard Martin.

She is survived by her children, Yvonne D. (Dee) Wyatt, Ronnie L. (Tamara) McCrary, Tanya L. (Sidney) Sherrill, Rhonda L. “Scooby” McCrary, siblings, John Moore, Lula Mae Walker, Rudolph Moore, Ruth Martin, Charlie Moore, Cecil Moore, Sr., Sallie Perry, Lessie (Rev. McArthur) Wagstaff, grandchildren, Shermika D. (Joshe) Wyatt-Martin, Darren M. (Patricia) Dixie, Terra L. McCrary, Stephen J. Wyatt, Cameron L. (Brittany) McCrary, Faith D. Sherrill, Sidra D. Sherrill, Jeremiah T. McCrary, great-grandchildren, Daniel J. Underwood-Wyatt, Antonia L. Wyatt, Alayana L. Davis, Katelyn A. Dixie, Patrick D. Manuel, James L. McCrary, Kendall C. Dixie, Josie A. Martin, and Camille P. McCrary, along with a host of aunts, cousins, other friends and relatives.
