Thelma Felecia Preston was born on March 29, 1958, in West Blocton, Alabama. She departed this earthly life on January 17, 2022.
She began her education in West Blocton Schools. In her teen years, she moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana graduating from South Side High School in 1976. She was also a former employee of JC Penney.
At an early age, Thelma confessed her faith in Christ and was baptized at Mount Grove Baptist Church. Upon moving to Fort Wayne, she united with Friendship Baptist Church.
Thelma had a beautiful smile that lit up a room. She was a private person who was known to speak her mind. She would be there to support her family or friends in their time of need. Her contagious laughter, catch-phrases, and facial expressions were one-of-a-kind. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Roseanna Davidson; father, Thomas Preston; sisters, Connie Preston, Dorothy Myatt, and Jeraldean Shearer; and one brother, Howard (Ray) Preston.
She leaves to cherish her memories: sisters, Margaret Ann (Crawford) Freeman, and Debra Preston of Fort Wayne; brothers, Kenneth Preston of Fort Wayne, Steve (Linda) Preston of West Blocton, AL, and Clyde (Charlester) Preston of Centreville, AL; one aunt, Virginia Taylor of Fort Wayne; sister-in-law, Pam Preston of Fort Wayne; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
