Towanda Christine (Baskerville) Samuel was born December 9, 1958 to Marie (Manuel) and Henry Baskerville in Atlantic City, New Jersey. She departed this life on Thursday, June 9, 2022.
Towanda moved to Fort Wayne with her family at the age of 12. She later went on to graduate from Northrop High School in June 1977. After graduating, Towanda was employed by GTE/Verizon, and retired after 30 years of dedicated service.
Towanda found the love of her life in Anthony Samuel and the two have lived together happily and raised their children together for 27 years.
Towanda enjoyed nuturing and fostering love in the children around her, spending time with her own grandchildren, listening to music, attending concerts, dancing, playing computer games, and traveling. She was also known for showing a keen interest in Black art and history.
Towanda was predeceased in death by her father, Henry Lewis Baskerville and sister, Marie Annette Baskerville.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Anthony Samuel; sons, Kelvin Byers, Marselis (Aja) Byers and Cordell Samuel; daughter, Vanessa Childs; mother, Marie Baskerville Miller; sisters, Katherine Baskerville and Katrina Baskerville; grandchildren Arieah, Audrey, Ashanti, Carmelo and Ayla; nieces Kimya Baskerville and Da'Lexus Wright; nephews, Quincy (Nicole) Baskerville, Tarvar (Debora) Baskerville, and Korbin Baskerville; and a host of great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.
