Verdell, affectionately known as "Auntie," "Aunt Verd," or "Mrs. V" will be missed by many as she had a joyful, loving spirit and the biggest heart. The joy and love she shared was so infectious she'd brighten anyone's day. Throughout her entire life she made a conscious effort to express love through acts of kindness, caring, giving, and service. It's safe to say she lived by Ephesians 4:2 "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love."(NIV)
Verdell loved worshiping her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and joined Pilgrim Baptist Church in 1991. Prior to, she was a longtime member of Shiloh Baptist Church where she was the President of the Usher Board.
Verdell and the love of her life, Hubert Morrison, were united in holy matrimony in March 1965.
Being the nurturing, warm hearted person she was, Verdell was a Nurse Aide for many years at St. Joseph Hospital. Later she worked as a Home Health Aide. Upon retiring she volunteered at several establishments throughout the community, including the food bank.
