Wilbert Essex, 73, made his transition to his heavenly home on Monday, Aug. 29, 2022. Born in Marion, AL, he made Fort Wayne his home many years ago. He worked at UPS and Allen County Pretrial Services as a Bail Commissioner.  
 

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 50 years, Cora (Johnson) Essex; children: Belinda (Bryant) Moore of IL and TaWanna (Ervin) Harris of KS; grandchildren, Brian of IL and A’Milya of KS; siblings: Ernest (Elizabeth) Essex Sr. and Frances Milan of Fort Wayne, James (Velma) Essex, Mary Perry, and Mary Essex all of AL, and Wilma (Paul) Everette of MD; with a host of other loving relatives and friends.  

Homegoing celebration is 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022, at True Love Baptist Church, 715 E. Wallace St., with calling starting at 9:30 a.m. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery.
