William Royce Nance, Jr. son of Royce Nance and Bernice (Reeder) Nance was born on March 1, 1950 to in Florence, Alabama. He was called home on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 and entered his eternal rest at 10:51 AM at Hospice Home in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
William also known as “Soonie” was brought up in a good Christian home as a child. As an adult he rededicated his life to Christ. Soonie was an employee of Norfolk and Southern Railroad for many years. He served his country and was a honorably discharged Army Veteran.
Soonie was a jack of all trades, he could do just about anything with his hands. He enjoyed fishing, camping, working on cars and building things. He loved spending time with his family. He also loved to draw, he had an artistic flare. His drawings were filled with emotions and stories of life. He was a wonderful, kind hearted man. His giving was always with a big heart and loved his family dearly.
He leaves to continue his legacy and cherish his memories are his loving wife, Georgia M. Nance; daughters, Erica (Barnard) Felix, Wynette Nance, Marvette (Melvin) White; sons, Corey Cooper, Adam McLaughlin; stepsons, Anthony Cooper, Phillip Nance, Tommy (Saffron) Cooper; stepdaughters, Marcia Nance, Ruth Nance and Giovanni Cooper; god-daughter, Tracy Jackson-Greene; sisters, Dorothy Totty, Bernita Nance and Pamela (Donald) Parks, and Linda Gunn; brothers, Ricky Nance and Reginald Turner; 39 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
William was preceded in death by his parents, Royce Nance and Bernice Nance Armstrong; grandchildren, Dreshawn Cooper, Demetris Nance, Betty Cooper and Derrick Cooper.
