Willie Vigrinia (Siddell) Thomas

Willie Virginia Thomas 96 of Fort Wayne, Indiana formally of Benton Harbor, Michigan., passed away Friday, July 31, 2020 at Miller Merry Manor Nursing Home. She was born October 7, 1923 in Marion, Arkansas to the late John and Bertha (Williamson) Siddell. She believed in God and was baptized and was a member of True Love Baptist Church, Fort Wayne, Indiana and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church of Benton Harbor, Michigan.

Willie V. married Walter Thomas in West Memphis, Arkansas. He preceded her in death.

Willie V. (Peep) was homemaker and also worked as a dishwasher and cook at the Morris Hotel in Chicago, Illinois. Willie V. also worked at Benton Harbor High School as a hall monitor for many years. Willie V returned to earn her GED Diploma in her late 50’s and also took some college classes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, eight siblings, Lucille Siddell-Starks, Oliver Siddell, Jeanette Siddell-Vanner, Julius Siddell, Watson Siddell, and E. J. Siddell, Frank Siddell, Rosie Lee Siddell-Carver and John Siddell.

Willie V is survived by her loving son Salaam A. Muhammad of Fort Wayne, IN, a sister Ora Lee Siddell-Fitzgerald of West Memphis, AR, a brother Leroy Siddell of Mayflower, AR,  Sam Siddell of Earle, AR Van Robinson, Flint, Michigan, along with six grandsons, 14 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Graveside service will be held Noon, Friday, August 7, 2020 at Northshore Gardens Cemetery.  - Service Arrangements provided by Robbins Brothers Funeral Home - Benton Harbor, MI
