Jonas Tate Jr. was born October 28, 1934 in Berne, Arkansas.  He passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Lutheran Hospital.

He accepted Christ in his life at an early age and baptized in Arkansas.

On December 1, 1956, he united in holy matrimony to Erlene Trotter. In the mid 1960’s they relocated to Fort Wayne, Indiana.

In 1996, he retired from Omni Source after 34 years of dedicated service. After retirement he still found a need to keep busy, whether it was tinkering with something or tending to his garden, he just couldn’t keep still.

He recently rededicated his life to the Lord and united with Renaissance Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Michael Latham.

Jonas was preceded in death by his parents, Jonas Sr. and was the last child remaining his siblings.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Erlene Tate; children, Margaret Campbell, Linda (Fred) Rice, Benita Tate and Steven (Janice) Tate; three generations of grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Jonas will be laid to rest in Lindenwood Cemetery
