Obituary
Melvin Palmer III was born June 17, 1985 in Chicago, Illinois to Michelle (Lake) Palmer and the late Melvin Palmer, Jr. He was called home at the age of 30 on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Lutheran Hospital.
He attended D. S. Wentworth Elementary School in Chicago, Illinois and after moving to Gary, Indiana in 2001 he graduated from William A Wirt High School in 2003.
Melvin was known for his warm smile, being the life of the party. He loved to rap, mix music, and play basketball “his way”. Mel was a protector, dependable, loving and caring sociable person that always had your back. If he could not do it he would find a way to make it happen. Melvin had many sayings, but most remembered is calling you “FuFu”.
Melvin has left us for a while, but we will always remember the love he had for his family and all the kids.
To always remember are his wife, LaToya Palmer; six children: Damion & Darius Palmer, Dajyhana, Dashia and Demonte Anderson and Daquan Burwell; his mother, Michelle Palmer (stepfather, Bobby Clark); siblings: Schwhan Palmer, Kenneth Jackson, Talisha Palmer, Sean D. McElrath Jr.; grandmother, Dorothy Palmer; aunts: Tina Lake, Shevell Palmer, Lisa Span and Gail Palmer; uncles: Anthony Lake, Gregory Palmer, Vincent Palmer and Sean D. McElrath, Sr.; godparents, Lewis and Gertha Johnson; nieces and nephews: Michelle Jackson, Shariece Palmer, James Palmer, Talia Sanders, Demir Royal, Ayhzieriah and Sa’Myah Johnson, Taniya Sanders and Sean D. McElrath III; a host of cousins and friends; close friends: Phillip Tate, Timothy Rhodes, Roosevelt Allen, 50 Cent, Randy Robinson and Snoop.
Melvin was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Palmer, Jr.; a brother, James Palmer, maternal grandmother, Norma Lake; grandfather, Melvin Palmer, Sr. an uncle, James Lake and friend, Jabaar Wilcox.
